The city has begun negotiations with the Eagles on a cost and is nearing an agreement with the England defender. With only six months remaining on his contract, Palace is seeking over £40 million for its captain. If Guehi moved as a free agent in the summer, he would forfeit a sizable signing-on fee.
However, it is believed that City made a substantial offer to the 25-year-old, promising to outbid whatever deal he would receive at the end of the current campaign.
Oliver Glasner, the manager of Palace, reportedly opened the door to a sale this month after thwarting a summer deadline day transfer to Liverpool last year.
Bayern Munich, Real Madrid, and Barcelona have all expressed interest in the Palace player.
Guehi’s inclusion in the team for Palace’s Premier League match against Sunderland on Saturday remains uncertain.
To agree to a deal, Palace will have to find a successor for Guehi. This is the club’s last opportunity to get paid for the former Chelsea youth player, though, since the defender has said that he will not sign a new contract.
As terms of the £18 million contract that brought him to Selhurst Park in 2021, Palace owes the Blues 20% of any sale.
Following major injuries to both Josko Gvardiol and Ruben Dias during their match with Chelsea earlier this month, City increased their interest.

Max Alleyne, a young player on loan at Watford in the Championship, was called back.
Guardiola, however, wants additional defensive protection as they try to stay in the battle for the championship against rivals Arsenal.
Antoine Semenyo of Bournemouth has already cost them £65 million this month.
